Welcome to Oroua Downs School
Welcome to our school's website!
Oroua Downs a rural school located 28 km west of Palmerston North. We will start the 2012 year with 87 students and look to grow close to 95 by the end of the year. We have a very experienced teaching staff as well as a recent graduate that work hard to bring fresh ideas about teaching and learning to their classes. Our staff create inspiring learning opportunities and environments where children learn best.
Our school takes great pride in its learning progress results, with our literacy results in particular being of an excellent standard. We also compete in as many sporting exchanges and events as possible, as our students are highly active and very skilled. We see this as adding to a balanced education at Oroua Downs school.
We have excellent resources for our students to enjoy, with two swimming pools, a great playground and good sized fields.
